Our second Drop Down Day of the academic year took place on the 10th March 2022 and students participated in a variety of sessions aimed at developing wider personal development.

Students in Year 7 took part in a range of team building style workshops that focussed on promoting teamwork, communication, creativity, respect and managing emotion. Engagement and motivation shown by the year group was excellent. The skills developed will be vital for their success both in education and life.

A Fundamental British Values Day was the focus for our Year 8 cohort where students looked at the list of British Values, democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs.

Our Year 9 students participated in a careers and employability skills day. They registered on the Unifrog careers platform and completed some profiling tasks and researched possible future careers. Additionally, they completed workshops in CV writing, preparing for and participating in mock work interviews and finally a session on the world of work.

Students in Year 10 benefitted from a revision skills day where they focussed a range of techniques that help them condense key subject knowledge down to manageable revision notes. These techniques will prove vital as they prepare for the GSCE examinations in near future.

Year 12 Manor College students searched for possible work experience placements that they will complete in July 2022 and considered the skills and qualities they would gain from such an experience.
