Friday 10th October is World Mental Health Day, and research shows that the numbers of young people nationally who are struggling with their mental health is on the increase, as are the waiting lists for support.

At the Manor Academy, we are partnered with the Mental Health Support Team, who come into school and work with numerous students in the early stages of needing support, with the aim to avoid their problems escalating to a higher level, whereby students may need more extensive support.

Over the next few days, in the build up to the 10th October, we will be sharing some useful information from Young Minds, the UK’s leading charity fighting for a world where no young person feels alone with their mental health.

Young Minds offer tailored information, advice and support to parents and carers who are concerned about their child or young person’s mental health. You can speak to them over the phone, or chat to them online. You can use their Helpline service if you are the parent or main carer of a child or young person aged 25 or under. Their service is available across the UK. It is free and confidential.
